Every November since 2016, Jack Stromgren, DDS, has opened his Willow Glen office for a day of free dental care. That record now sits behind a dental plan for the uninsured.
The plan, named the Jack Stromgren Executive Protection Dental Plan, was introduced in a release dated Sept. 29, 2026. The release links his community work to the plan’s emphasis on access.
The plan was built for people who have no company insurance, with founders, freelancers and gig-economy executives in Santa Clara County among them. It is intended to bring affordable dental care to people who lack insurance.
A Day Each November
The Free Dental Day takes place at Stromgren Family Dentistry, his practice on Lincoln Avenue. Community members receive care at no cost during the event.
Between 60 and 70 patients are seen on each of those days. Stromgren covers the cost of the day himself.
The Willow Glen practice’s home page places the day under a heading for community commitment, next to his board work.
Service Beyond the Office
Stromgren holds a board seat at the Willow Glen Free Clinic. The release lists that role alongside the November event.
He also took a dental sealant program into east-side elementary schools in San José, and it ran for six years. The release refers to it as a school sealant program he previously operated.
Youth sports are part of the record as well. He coaches youth soccer, and his support for Little League comes through a sponsorship in the community.
The practice site says these commitments reflect a focus on access and care that the site sees across his practice. His online biography groups the clinic board and the school program with the November day under that focus.
From One Day to the Executive Protection Dental Plan
The free day serves patients on a single date, while the plan is organized around care across a full year. Its first pillar, Advance Work, opens with a complete workup and a map of each member’s risks, then sets a care calendar for the next 12 months.
Its premise is that planned prevention runs cheaper than emergency treatment. In the release, this pillar is about catching problems early, well before they become urgent.
Rapid Response, the second pillar, covers access when a dental problem arrives without warning. Members get visits the day a problem starts or the following day, plus a phone line that goes straight to the office.
Appointments for new visits currently run about 11 weeks out. Those in the plan receive priority scheduling.
Specialist care runs through The Inner Circle, a network of implant specialists, periodontists and endodontists that Stromgren manages, so members never handle referrals on their own. Zero Blind Spots completes the four with coverage terms published up front and an aim of billing without surprises or guesswork over denied claims.
The plan borrows its structure from executive close protection, bringing that field’s habit of planning ahead into dental care, and it treats the security field with respect. A single dentist answers for each member, in the role of a detail lead rather than an insurance call center.
In the release, preparation sits next to access, coordination and transparency as the plan’s central ideas. The same release is plain that the framework cannot prevent every dental problem.
Its messaging calls employer coverage the first benefit to disappear for someone going independent. Its framing casts a dental emergency as a threat to keeping a business running, whether ahead of a product launch or during travel to meet a client.
The Practice That Hosts the Day
The November event runs inside a working general practice. The release says the plan grows out of his years as a general dentist for patients across Willow Glen and the county. Jack Stromgren bought that office in 2014, when it served about 1,100 patients, and it has since grown from four operatories to five and to over 3,000 active patients from around the county.
An associate dentist has practiced there since 2022. Restorative and implant dentistry are the core of the care offered, with implants added after years of continuing education.
Custom oral appliances for obstructive sleep apnea are another focus, for diagnosed patients who have difficulty with CPAP. The services the office provides also cover routine exams and cleanings for families, along with crowns, bridges and repair of damaged teeth.
The services page says the clinical team puts its emphasis on accurate diagnosis, clear planning of treatment and careful clinical work. It adds that implant treatment starts with an evaluation and that appointments allow room to examine patients and talk through choices.
His path to Willow Glen began in Turlock, a Central Valley town. He earned his DDS at UCSF in 2005 and trained in a hospital residency in Santa Clara County, where many patients had complex medical needs. Eight years in Sunnyvale followed, heavy on crowns and bridges.
The practice site credits him with over twenty years of clinical work. The release adds that he has run an independent practice for over ten years.
